But can you really call a scared, hopeless being that simply wants to defend itself a “monster”? A creature that uses violence against you only because every second of its existence has been nothing but torment? That is for you, the player, to decide once you’re faced with determining their fate. A world inhabited by countless of creatures that are for the most part simply referred to as “monsters”.
A world you can either decide to annihilate or salvage. In Undertale you take on the role of a child who finds his/her way into a strange, curious world.
